The Attorney/Assistant Exchange is a fanwork exchange focusing on relationships between lawyers and their respective partners in the courtroom and at the crime scene. This event is open to participants over 18.

During the exchange, you'll be able to request attorney/assistant ships and offer ships that you're interested in creating. You'll be matched on one relationship and one rating. Then you'll give your work to your recipient and receive one from another creator in return!

We’ve tried to be as inclusive as possible when selecting ships for the exchange’s tagset, primarily referencing the wiki’s “Partner” page. To qualify for the tagset, one character must be a lawyer and the other character must assist them in an investigation or in trial.
All relationships must be romantic and/or sexual, indicated on AO3 by a slash. You may request and write fics about pre-relationship dynamics, break-ups, and any other interpretation you would feel comfortable tagging with the slash tag.
You're welcome to specify in the Additional Details section of your request that you'd like to combine relationships into threesomes, polycules, or other dynamics - but remember that your creator is only required to create for one of your requested pairing tags.
Fandom: Please indicate if you'd like to receive works with relationships from the mainline Ace Attorney series (including Investigations) or the Great Ace Attorney series. You may request relationships from both series across different requests.

Additional Details: If you'd like, include prompts and ideas for your assigned creator. Anything you would absolutely like to avoid (a Do Not Want, or DNW) should go in this section - DNWs outside of your AO3 signup (such as in an external Dear Creator letter) will not be enforced. Please remain polite in your DNWs - insulting requests (such as "DNW gross kinks") will be deleted.
You're welcome to specify here that you'd like to combine relationships you requested into threesomes, polycules, or other dynamics - but remember that your creator is only required to create for one pairing you've requested.

You are encouraged to ensure your offer is matchable by browsing requests on AO3 or the scraped Automagic app. Creators who submit unmatchable offers will be contacted with the option of either editing their offer or deleting it.
You'll be matched on one relationship + one medium within a single request, and your posted work must be tagged with at least one ship that your recipient requested. Be open to creating outside of your usual comfort zone!
Assignments will be sent out no more than seven days after sign-ups close. You will be contacted if your offer is unmatchable. You are only required to create a single work for your participant, though you're more than welcome to create additional works for them or any other participant who has indicated a willingness to receive treats.
Please withdraw (“default”) ASAP if you feel you cannot complete your assignment! You are no longer guaranteed a gift if you default and your assigned creator defaults - you may pick up a pinch hit or create a treat that hits minimum requirements if you'd like to remain in the exchange. If you have not requested an extension and your work has not been posted, or your work is posted but does not meet minimum requirements, it will be put up for a pinch hit.
This is an anonymous exchange, so please don't publicly discuss your assignment or your work before creator reveals, including within large Discord servers. You are welcome to reach out to the exchange mod to pass along any questions you may have for your recipient.
Pinch hits are works created to fulfill a defaulted assignment. Any pinch hits will be available on Dreamwidth and announced on Tumblr, and will be assigned on a first-come first-serve basis. They must comply with event rules and, unless otherwise stated, will be due on the exchange's due date (Feb 28, 11:59pm EST).
Treats are extra works posted outside of your assignment. They are optional, and may be gifted to any recipient in the exchange that has indicated a willingness to receive treats in their Additional Details. Treats must abide by all rules except for minimum requirements, and may be posted at any time before creator reveals (when the collection will close). If you're interested in receiving treats, please check to ensure your AO3 account can receive gifts from all users.
You do not need to be signed up for the exchange to create a pinch hit or a treat.
If you have any issues posting your work, or need an extension, please reach out to the exchange mod; extensions are only guaranteed to be granted if requested up to 24 hours before the deadline. Any work that has not been posted before the deadline will be automatically defaulted and put up as a pinch hit. Any work that does not reach minimum requirements will be put up as a pinch hit.
Work reveals may be delayed to ensure every participant has a gift.
There is a one-week anonymous period after work reveals - please continue to avoid identifying yourself as a creator of a particular work publicly during this time. Any comments you post under your own work during this period will also be temporarily anonymous.
